Yankauer Tip Shape and Tissue Contact

The flat tip draws across a pooling surface and suits a general surgical field; the crown tip keeps the openings away from tissue when suction is held against bowel or lung. Both are moulded with a rounded rim so the tip does not grab friable tissue, and vented handles give fingertip control of the vacuum.

Bore, Length and Kink Resistance

A 6.3mm bore moves blood and irrigation fluid without the whistle of a narrow line, and the striated wall keeps the tube open when it is clamped under a drape. Length follows the distance from field to canister: 1800mm for a trolley at the table side, up to 3600mm when the suction unit sits across the theatre.

Sterile Supply, Shelf Life and OEM

Each tube is individually packed, ethylene oxide sterilized, and carries a two-year shelf life from the sterilization date, so a theatre store can hold stock without short dating. Tip form, length and handle venting can be combined for a distributor's own specification, with private label printing on pouch and carton.

1800mm, 2000mm, 2500mm, 3000mm and 3600mm, each in flat-tip and crown-tip versions. All use a 1/4in tube with 6.3mm inner and 9.1mm outer diameter, a K-resin handle and PVC tubing.
Only as long as the layout needs. Extra length adds resistance and creates loops that trap fluid, so choose the shortest tube that reaches from the sterile field to the canister, and use 3600mm only when the suction unit is across the room.
Yes. Ethylene oxide sterilized, individually packed and intended for one procedure, with a two-year shelf life. It is not designed to withstand cleaning or resterilisation, so a new tube is used for each case.
