One Pass Instead of Three Steps
Conventional oral care needs a swab, a rinse and a separate suction tip, and every transfer raises the chance of secretions reaching the airway. A brush with suction built into the head removes debris while it is loosened, which shortens the procedure and keeps it under the control of a single operator.
Silicone Head and Bite-Resistant Handle
Oral mucosa in a ventilated patient is friable, and a firm bristle head causes bleeding that opens a route for bacteria. The silicone head flexes against the gum line, and the K-resin handle takes occlusal force from patients who bite down during suctioning, so the brush does not fracture in the mouth.
Where Oral Care Fits in VAP Prevention
Oral bacteria are a documented source of ventilator-associated pneumonia, and plaque removal is part of the bundles used to reduce it. The brush is used in intensive care for patients with endotracheal tubes or tracheostomies, in anaesthesia before and after surgery, and in neurology, rehabilitation, geriatric and respiratory wards where patients cannot clear secretions alone.
